Brief & Context

​

The project brief centres on reinstating the separation between a pair of houses, converting a single dwelling back into two, whilst simultaneously carrying out necessary repairs, desired refurbishments and possible extensions of the Grade II Listed building, which is located in The Boltons Conservation Area.

TJA’s Response

​

​TJA are lead consultant for a multi-disciplinary team, providing full architectural services. The project requires carefully navigation of the restrictions and requirements presented by the building's listed status and location within a conservation area. Our experience working with sustainability and the home in the context of heritage projects has enabled us to offer expert input on a challenging planning process, develop informed design responses and work with engineers on environmentally sustainable solutions. Unlike typical projects, working with heritage buildings requires detailed specification to be developed early on with the local planning authority. We are working with expert craftsman to design these details and even make prototypes to test ideas and secure approvals. ​​​
